This is one of the best kept secrets in city center. Just around the corner of the busy Utrechtsestraat its a oasis of calm and has execelent coffee. A must if you are an esspreso lover visiting the city. Warning, Spijk employees are to be found here on any given day. Our HQ is within 5 minutes of this place.

Le Auberge is a new kid on the block in the pijp and offers fantastic french quisine. With its magnifecent candle lit wine cellar and home like atmosphere, it an ideal place to unwind after an long day at the office and have dinner with friends.

8. Brouwerij ‘t IJ
Brouwerij ‘t IJ was the first craft brewery in Amsterdam and makes some of the best beers you can find in the city. Their brews are widly available troughout the town but there is nothing better than to drink it at the source.

This is in our opinion the best lunch stop ever. If you are strolling around town or just been to the hermitage and a little packish try to find this shop! These guys make the best sandwiches we could lay our hands on. You can choose from an wide array of cheese and meat and score a nice bottle of wine for an ideal canal side picknic.

This bar is Spijk’s favorite day time drinking spot. Build under a carpark this is an excelent place to enjoy the sun and have a few to many.

We at Spijk love surf and turf accompanied by good wine. This place has the best steak and lobster in town so it’s not hard to imagine that we love it there. Just make the damn reservation!

4. Cafe onder de ooievaar
Gents this is really a good old dutch traditional waterhole. If you want to drinks a beer among the locals this is the place. Just sit at the bar and strike a conversation, there is a big chance you will talk to the guy that designed the socks you just ordered.

It’s a really good place to chill, have some beers and play games with friends. Located in a small alley in the red light district it is hard to find but awsome when found. Do not forget to stumble in to the shop across the street and buy a bottle of reset to be hangover free the next morning.

If you are in to wine like us make this pitoresque wine bar a stop wile visting amsterdam. these guys only pour vin naturelles so less hangovers. If the weather allows, sit on the curbside terras, order a bottle of delisious wine and some charcuterie.

The number one breakfast spot of the city! Have your ommelette with a view on the prinsengracht, how good can live be? This lovely restaurant makes excelent breakfast and coffee so that is a great way to start your day.
